The hilarity of the wine kiosks are back. But delayed a few months. A small part of me is a bit excited to see these monstrosities. The big hold up is timing. They are allowed to sell everyday including Sundays and the state currently limits the number of stores that allow sales of wine on Sundays. PLCB’s chairman has asked regulators to waive this law for the kiosks. The plot keeps thickening.

On a different side of creative, who saw this article in the New York Times about Stella Artois’ new marketing campaign? They’ve commissioned a movie called “Up There” about the dying art form of wall painting, or billboards painted on the sides of buildings. Stella’s brand manager Paul Byrne tries to break his coprorate mold from their mother company, Anheuser-Busch:

“We’re always challenging Mother and our other agencies to break through, to go a little deeper and make an impression.”

While that statement is a little mommy dearest for me, I think its a pretty cool idea and look forward to seeing the 12 minute movie.
